Here’s what we’re most looking forward to.

1. Cars Care Show

CP Unlimited and Verrazano Kiwanis Club are hosting the Cars Care Show. Attendees will get to see more than 400 classic exotic cars. There will also be food trucks to enjoy and vendors to browse. This will be a family-friendly event.

Tickets for entry cost $5, with the proceeds going to support the organizations. The show is happening on Sunday, June 25 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. It’s taking place at the College of Staten Island, located at 2800 Victory Boulevard.

2. NYCEDC’s Summer of Offshore Wind Beach Demo Days

Families in the greater New York City area are invited to come together on Midland Beach for this family-friendly event in Staten Island. Parents and children will be learning about renewable energy and offshore wind. This event will involve activities like building wind turbine models.

There will be 45-minute sessions happening all day between 11:00 am and 4:30 pm. Admission is free. Attend this event on Wednesday, June 28 at 280 Father Capodanno Boulevard.

3. Summer Solstice Sensory Hike

This is truly a summer event meant for the whole family. This hike will include the opportunity to learn why the seasons change and what unique things happen in the area when it does. The experience will give participants the opportunity to open up all five senses to what’s happening this time of year.

The event is free to attend and family-friendly. Everyone is encouraged to wear sturdy shoes appropriate for a hike. The event is taking place at High Rock Park located at 200 Nevada Avenue. It’s happening on Wednesday, June 21 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

4. Staten Island Summer of Shorts Film Festival

This is the second annual short film festival from the Historic Port Richmond Preservation Association. The big event is being held at the Dutch Reformed Church. Many productions have used this space as an award-winning film set, including the show Boardwalk Empire. It’s located at 54 Port Richmond Avenue in The Oscar Teale Sunday School Building.

You’re welcome to bring movie snacks to the screening. There will be short films from local filmmakers and global ones. There will also be a feature film shown during the event. It’s taking place on Saturday, June 24th at 6:00 pm.
